Barn Loft Renovation Part 1

Barn Loft Renovation Part 1

This is the future kitchen area. It was originally set up as a bar as this was used previously as an event property/horse barn. Unfortunately the burlap was the first thing to go aside from the old metal roof that was leaking. I loved the burlap but it was dusty and in the way of the insulation installation plus it made for a really good hiding spot for wasps & hornets (both of which I am highly allergic to) 😬! So it had to go - I saved the old metal panels from the roof & am hoping to use them on my new chicken coop. And I saved the metal from the front of the bar to re-use on the new kitchen cabinets that will be installed.

The wood boards on the walls had to come down in order to insulate the interior. They are going back up & shout out to our smart contractor that numbered them all so they know exactly where to put them back!

And this is a really cool old mantle from the 1800s that was behind the bar. It's going back on the wall but haven't decided exactly where yet. It may need to become part of my studio.

Insulation ready to go!

Happy new year y'all!
